Before embarking on his journey in European football with CD Gouveia, Zef made significant waves in the Slovenian 2nd League as the head coach of NK Rudar Velenje. However, his coaching prowess extends beyond borders, as he left an indelible mark during his tenure at Queensborough Community College (2009-2017). Under his leadership, the team achieved remarkable milestones, including three CUNYAC Regular Season Titles and four CUNYAC Championships. Zef’s dedication earned him the prestigious title of CUNYAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and 2016, along with the N.J.C.A.A. Region XV Sportsmanship Award for a second time.

His coaching journey also includes invaluable experience with the Olympic Development Program, where he honed his skills coaching the U16 & U17 Boys age groups.

With a Master’s of Science in Sport Psychology and an impressive array of coaching licenses and diplomas, including the UEFA ‘B’ Coaching License, USSF ‘A’ National Coaching License, N.S.C.A.A. Advanced National Diploma, and N.S.C.A.A. Director of Coaching Diploma, Zef Kabashi is a testament to the importance of continuous learning and professional development in the world of football coaching.

Zef’s journey in the football coaching world is adorned with championships and accolades, including a 1ª Divisão Distrital Associação de Futebol da Guarda Championship with CD Gouveia, LISFL Premier League and McKim Cup Championships with NY Irish Rovers, and a series of titles during his tenure at Queensborough Community College.

Currently residing in Viseu with his wife Michele and their three children, Lucas Paul, Aneliese, and Luana, Zef Joseph Kabashi remains a guiding light in the world of football coaching. His passion, expertise, and unwavering commitment make him an invaluable asset to any team aspiring to reach the pinnacle of success.

Zef’s dedication to personal and professional development is a testament to his commitment to excellence. His participation in mentorship programs conducted by Raymond Verheijen, founder of Football Coach Evolution. Raymond’s experience includes coaching in 4 World Cup Tournaments, 4 European Cup tournaments, as well as Chelsea Football Club, Manchester City and FC Barcelona. Zef has been a student of his for 10 years now and still continues to attend his courses; this has enriched his coaching acumen and broadened his horizons. He firmly believes that staying curious, open-minded, and committed to learning is the key to unlocking one’s full potential in the beautiful game.
